Alexandrea Pataky Shapera

Alex is a Chicago based screenprinter and scientific illustrator. She Illustrates natural and botanical subjects for publication, and prints gig posters and art prints with natural and animal themes.  She learned to screen-print at Screwball Press under the mentorship of Steve Walters, is a member of the Chicago Printmakers Guild, as well as serving as Vice President of the Great Lakes chapter of the Guild of Natural and Scientific Illustrators. 

She has illustrated medical and mechanical work for publication and for clients such as Medline, Johnson and Johnson and MedTronic specializing in nanoscale illustration and Visualization of IFU.

Alex has creating illustraions, posters and branding work for The Coca Cola Co., Steppenwolf Theater, The Garfield Park Conservatory, The City of Chicago, Frye Boot Co., as well as work for Chicago institutions such as The Metro, The Hideout, Uncommon Ground, Subterranean, and Lincoln Hall.
